足球肯尼迪说了什么?
“He’s a bit of a dickhead, isn’t he?” (他有点自以为是,对吧) “Yeah, but look at him. Look how high-energy is that guy! He looks so fit and energetic! And you know what, I like it. To me that says ‘I care about my job’, doesn’t it? It makes me want to go out there and give the same effort on the pitch as well. You can tell when players genuinely love their jobs, because they are always trying new things all the time and pushing themselves harder than normal. They don’t just do the minimal amount needed for a decent performance, they try and push every area in order to get better individually and improve their team. When you see this then it shows off on the field, with good energy levels, positive attitude and willingness to try everything possible to play at the highest level possible! So yeah, we need more Dicks around here!” (In other words:He’s an arsehole, and we should all be like that instead)
The problem? Well, firstly no one wants to watch football if everyone is playing like arsesholes. Secondly, most people hate being made fun of (hence why comedians are usually pretty hated by most people) Thirdly, not only does this make us seem like jerks who think we own everything and are too cool to talk to anyone unless they agree with our point of view, which is also kind of true... Fourthly, it's actually really stupid. We have such great coaches now, full of people who are highly educated within their fields and know exactly what the best way forward is. We shouldn't ignore them, or even just dismiss them outright by calling them "dickheads" Instead we should take any advice from them seriously regardless of whether we personally believe in whatever method they say will help, because it might. The thing everybody misses whenever they hear something similar to this is the fact that although Pep did call these players 'Dickheads', he was still giving them advice. A lot of his points are extremely valid and could change the world of English football forever. If nothing else, listening to someone who has been successful would probably never hurt anything either? Unless your ego gets injured somehow… In which case, sorry mate!
Pep himself later admitted after saying those statements that maybe they didn't come across properly,
